Our class started off with poetry. One of the very first things that we were taught was "great writers do not cheat, they steal." From there, we began to create the copy change poem. I stole the format of one poem, while changing all the words and the entire meaning of the poem. I was facing outside when I wrote it, and being a nature lover, the words came to my mind easily.
Simply Passing Through
In the meadows I love the vibrant colors of the Earth
that bring life into every living being.
People of every kind mingling about,
each one hiding an unexpected beauty.
A pessimist, searching for the bad in all
asks, “Why is life so dreary and sad?”
Wonderingly I shake my head-
There is so much missing when you’re not looking.
