The typeface Broadway comes from the special family and conveyed the message I wanted for my memoir. On Broadway, the signs are inviting people in to see the show, and I wanted my memoir to invite people in to see a part of my life and read my memoir. The typeface anatomy includes fancy uneven lines, counters, finials, ascenders, and a few serifs, giving it a fancy yet sophisticated look. It is meant to be big, showy, and catch the eye of onlookers. The kerning works well with even spaces, but enough spacing that they are not squished together. None of the letters look out of place. Overall, it is a perfect fit for my memoir, advertising it just like its own show.

Memoir #1:
The main subject of the photo is Butler in the first memoir. The background all blends together, but both the text and Butler seem to pop out of the picture. She is the one the words are talking about, so after reading the text your eyes naturally go to her and you understand. Her body falling basically conveys the message of the whole memoir. You know she is about to do a back flop, and inwardly you cringe, but you also know it is all right because she can laugh about.
Memoir #2:
The main subject of the photo is the church steeple in the second memoir. It cuts through the text, one of the first things you see, drawing the attention of you eye straight to it. The picture explains what the originally ran away from and came back to investigate. It shows that the intimidating factor wasn't a monster under the bed, or someone who scares you, but the concept of not being able to understand. The height of the steeple is what conveys the feeling of intimidation, symbolizing the concept of something towering over you, out of your reach of understanding.

The main focus of the background is my self in a performing position. The main idea of the memoir is performance, specifically singing, and the image of me as a young child emphasizes how i have been singing my song since the beginning and ill keep on singing until my curtain call. The main shape of the image is also me on the stage. Again it emphasizes the central idea of performance.
